Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley – Merzouga

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from your Marrakech hotel or riad. Our drive takes us through the majestic High Atlas Mountains, passing through Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), the highest mountain road in Morocco. Along the way, we stop to admire panoramic views of Berber villages, where traditional houses blend with the mountainous landscape.

Our first major stop is the legendary Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient earthen fortress that has been featured in Hollywood films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. You’ll have time to explore its narrow alleys and stunning viewpoints, capturing the essence of Morocco’s historic architecture.

Continuing toward Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” we pass through the Rose Valley and Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic landscapes.
